Laser rejuvenation/resurfacing can be targeted with two types of lasers:
Non-Ablative Laser (1540)
This creates a controlled thermal injury while leaving the skin surface intact. Fibroblast cells are stimulated to produce more healthy collagen and elastin, thereby improving signs of ageing. This form of laser treatment can be used on a low level to treat melasma. A course of treatments is required.
Recovery
Downtime is approximately 3-4 days. You may experience redness, mild swelling, a subtle darkening of the skin and possibly residual dryness.
Ablative Laser (2940)
This form of laser is performed by doctors in a sterile environment and assists in the resurfacing of the skin. At the same time, the laser stimulates new healthy collagen and elastin. This requires significant downtime and is done as a once-off treatment.
Recovery
Downtime is approximately 10-14 days. Initially, the skin will appear brown and scabbed with mild bleeding and discomfort. A strict post laser protocol will need to be followed and scabbing should lift between 7-10 days. Following this, the skin will remain pink for up to 6 weeks.
By utilising the state-of-the-art Cynosure Icon medical laser platform, we are able to target a wide variety of skin concerns. Deemed one of the most powerful medical lasers on the market, this platform provides more comfortable treatments with highly effective results.

SUCCESS STORY
“I’m blonde with a fair skin and I’ve always been self-conscious about my freckled pigment. Since completing a course of four MAX G laser treatments on my face, neck and chest, as well as using the Lamelle Luminesce skincare range at home, the Visia skin analysis showed a 47% improvement in visible pigment spots. Amazingly, my skin texture reading has also improved – by 57% – even though that wasn’t my primary concern.”
