Enhancing Your Beauty

Choosing between a breast lift (mastopexy) and breast augmentation depends on your
aesthetic goals and current breast shape. Here’s how I help my patients decide:

At consultation I recommend a Breast Lift if:

✅ Your primary concern is sagging (ptosis)—your breasts have lost their shape and
firmness.
✅ Your nipples point downward or sit below the breast crease.
✅ You have stretched or enlarged areolas (nipples).
✅ You are happy with your breast size, but want a more youthful, perky look.
✅ You have loose skin due to weight loss, aging, or pregnancy.

➡️ A breast lift reshapes and raises the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening
the tissue, but it does not add volume. You will have to accept scars under the breasts
and around the areolas (much like breast reduction scarring).

At consultation I recommend a Breast Augmentation if:

✅ Your main goal is to increase breast size and enhance fullness.
✅ You want more cleavage or enhanced shape.
✅ Your breasts are naturally small or have lost volume after pregnancy/weight loss.
✅ You have mild sagging, but your nipples are still above the breast crease.

➡️ Breast augmentation adds size and fullness but does not significantly correct
sagging. Incisions are placed in the breast crease and scars are inconspicuous.

At consultation I recommend combining Both if:

You have sagging and also want larger breasts, you may need both a breast lift and augmentation. This is common after pregnancy, weight loss, or aging when breasts lose both volume and firmness. It is essential to remove excess skin and sagging when placing an implant in these circumstances to avoid the “double bump” situation. This is where the saggy breast tissue hangs off the implant that sits higher up on the chest. It’s not a good look and should be avoided at all costs. Your surgeon will advise you if a breast lift is unavoidable when considering an augmentation. The scarring will be the same as for a breast lift alone i.e below the breasts in the crease and around the areolas.
