12 Dec Sheldene’s Thoughts – Get it all in 2024
As another busy year draws to a close, I begin to think of the speed of life passing by. The way the year is parcelled up according to the seasons, school terms, monthly rhythms, weekly commitments and daily “To Do’s”. The December break is always a welcome time to take a moment to reflect on life’s priorities. The festive season is a time where friends and family get together. In this digital age we may be in daily contact with literally hundreds of people via social media, but nothing is comparable to the physical gathering of your loved ones. To be able to touch each other, embrace and feel the warmth and smell of your special people. To share a meal or a special event together. To do fun things and create memories.
As the director of Somerset Surgery and MASC Laser Clinic, it has been a privilege to be a part of the journey our patients and clients have been on in 2024. Some have fulfilled a long-held dreams to undergo a cosmetic surgical procedure. Some have had the frightening news of a confirmed cancer diagnosis (skin or breast) and their time spent with us would have been more stressful than most, but we are grateful that they trusted us with their care, treatment, healing and restoration. Some can be proud that they could carve out some “me time” every month at MASC Laser Clinic on their journey to becoming the best version of themselves they can be.
Our business is very “hands on”. In this evolving world of AI, I am utterly convinced that Somerset Surgery is “future proof” as no “robot” can take the place of the care, compassion and physical touch required to cure, improve, smooth, fix, repair and rejuvenate. I would like to thank all of you for allowing us to put our hands on you and allow us into your space that only your nearest and dearest are usually allowed.
I hope you did “Get it all in ‘24” and trust that we will all Thrive in ’25!
