14 Dec Sheldene’s Thoughts: Thank you
Thank you
The Americans have a great tradition at this time of year – Thanksgiving. My family has made thanksgiving part of Christmas lunch where, one by one, each person at the table states the things they are most grateful for over the past year. I believe an ‘attitude of gratitude’ is essential to stay grounded during good times and to have mental fortitude during times of strife.
At Somerset Surgery & MASC Laser Clinic, we get to treat patients during their good and bad times. It is truly a humbling experience to observe patients who have an attitude of gratitude and then to receive words of thanks or letters expressing appreciation for the treatments or services they have experienced at our facilities.
I think of our skin cancer and breast reconstruction patients, who are grateful for so many reasons: 1) early diagnosis; 2) correct diagnosis; 3) successful treatment; 4) reconstructions that have returned their self-confidence; 5) a good prognosis going forward and 6) the loving support of their friends and family during their time of need.
I think of our cosmetic surgery patients, who are grateful their concerns have been addressed with sensitivity and the utmost dedication to an excellent outcome.
So as the year draws to a close, I start to think about the things I am grateful for:
- I am grateful for my staff’s constant dedication, attention to detail and passion for what they do.
- I am grateful that Somerset Surgery has been able to participate in the Eye Care Awareness champagne and help restore the gift of sight to 6 deserving patients.
- But I am most grateful for the trust the patients and doctors, who use Somerset Surgery, place in us.
We thank all of you for your support over the past year and look forward to being of service to you in the year ahead.
